No appointment necessary: New Richmond Walk-In clinic

OHSU is expanding healthcare access in Southeast Portland. We are proud to announce the opening of the new OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond Walk-In clinic. The clinic will open alongside Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare’s walk-in clinic, allowing for easy referrals between family medicine and mental heath providers.

Now in its final stages of construction, the new clinic will offer a number of non-emergency services to local residents – both insured and uninsured. The clinic will also help meet heavy demand for services during cold and flu seasons, when same-day appointments can be difficult for families to schedule.

OHSU’s Family Medicine at Richmond Walk-In clinic will open for patient services on Monday, June 24, 2013. Hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

  1. This is a huge step for OHSU and Richmond Clinic and a much needed service to the community.

  2. Richmond Clinic requires its walk-in patients, even if they call ahead first, to register before they can be seen by using a designated telephone located in the wide open space of the waiting room. PHI including your place of employment, monthly income, address and social security number must be given with full audio access to anyone in the room without any regard for privacy. Would it be too much trouble to put up a screen, move the phone to a back room or allow you to call from home? It is as if under-insured, lower income individuals ought not to complain or expect respect or dignity because they might be getting the only medical assistance they can afford.
