2021 Gifts for good

We depend on our community to help make the holidays special for kids and families, and your generosity makes an enormous difference. If you’re in a position to support OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital this holiday season, here are a few options to consider.

Shop our wish lists

Two health care workers stand outside in front of two red wagons with boxes stacked in themOHSU Doernbecher runs on donations – that means every toy, art activity, doll, truck, blanket and stuffed animal gets right in the hands of our patients to help ease their time in our hospital. These items are more than just toys – they provide comfort for many and allow an opportunity for kids to be kids and play while in a medical environment where stress and anxiety can increase. Shop our Child Life team’s wish list (which includes Target and Amazon list options so you can ship items directly to our hospital). Please remember that all donations must be new and unused. If you’d prefer to drop off a donation in person, please note that we will not be able to allow folks in our lobby due to visitor restriction. Instead, you have a few options:

  • Drop donations in a bin outside of our main entrance
  • Visit our holiday drive-through drop off in OHSU’s Lot 20 off SW U.S. Veterans Hospital Road (see map here) weekdays Dec. 6-22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • For larger donations, please call Child Life to make an appointment to meet them: 503-418-5388

…And while you’re shopping

With every purchase of products through AmazonSmile, you’ll donate a percentage of the purchase to OHSU Doernbecher! Start your Amazon shopping at smile.amazon.com, then select Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation – it’s the one listed as “Hospital (Specialty).”

Make a donation

As part of Oregon’s only academic health center, Doernbecher is the only place in the state where breakthrough pediatric research quickly translates into new treatments and access to life-saving care. When you give to Doernbecher, you ensure that leading-edge care will always be there when kids and their families need it most. Make a gift here.
