Image of Meg Suhosky, November 2018Hi there! My name is Meg and I joined the HC&A team as a student archives assistant at the end of October. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in history from California Lutheran University near my hometown. I moved to Portland in January to continue my education in the field through Portland State University’s Public History program, though I am also considering a MLIS.

I enjoy the challenges and surprises collections and artifacts have to offer, and have always been drawn to them. I’ve known for a long time that a career in archives was something I have been interested in pursuing, and joining the HC&A staff as a student assistant has offered me my first hands-on experience working with historical collections.

After graduation, I hope to find work within a museum, university library, or would like to work or volunteer with audiovisual and photograph archives. I am excited to be here, and I look forward to exploring history together through this blog!
