Creating additional Library seating on BICC second floor – access and noise impacts in May

Starting May 5th, the OHSU Library‘s second floor in the BICC building will be unavailable for users while we create additional seating space in the Library that is functional and welcoming for the OHSU community.

Work will start the week of May 9th at around 6:00 am each morning, and most of the noisiest work should take place early each day when there are fewer people in the building.  Library Staff will have limited access to the 2nd floor book stacks, so requests may take a bit longer than usual.  We expect the project to take between three and four weeks to complete.

During this project, the flooring will be replaced, the section of compact journal shelving closest to the stairs will be removed and replaced with cubicle study spaces, and new electrical wiring will be installed. This will help make our Library a more functional, welcoming space for all OHSU members.

If you have any questions about this project, please contact Tracy Thornton, Director of Library Operations, or use the information found on the Contact the Library page.
