Farewell from Kristine Alpi, Your University Librarian

Dear OHSU Community Members and OHSU Library Visitors,

It has been a pleasure getting to know you and to work with the OHSU Library team in supporting you in advancing your learning, discovery, and clinical care.  You are doing amazing things, and it is an honor to have been part of your efforts, as your University Librarian and as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Informatics & Clinical Epidemiology and a member of the Graduate Faculty.  Together we have advanced towards the vision of the OHSU Library as Oregon’s trusted partner in critically and sustainably creating and applying knowledge to improve health for all.

I will be leaving OHSU at the end of June to move eastward to New York City to be closer to family and join the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System as their Associate Dean of Libraries & Information Sciences.  If you are interested in staying in contact, please connect with me on LinkedIn, or reach out via MS Teams before my June 30 transition.  If you wish to connect in person, my last day on-site at Marquam Hill is Friday, June 17.

You remain in very good hands with the Library team.  Robin Champieux, has been appointed interim University Librarian to lead the Library in supporting you.  To learn more about Robin, please visit the Library blog post “Robin Champieux to serve as interim University Librarian”  Please plan to visit the Library later this summer when we announce that the renovation of part of our second floor in the BICC building is complete with additional individual and group workspaces ready to welcome you.

Thank you again for all that you do to advance knowledge and health!

Yours truly,

Kris Alpi, MLS, MPH, PhD, AHIP, FMLA
