What happens when you take 5000 Oregon high school students, sprinkle in dedicated mentors and turn them loose with potential employers and training programs? You get a highly engaging event like this week’s Northwest Youth Expo! OHSU and O[yes] joined other employers and sponsors representing health care, construction and trades, manufacturing, apprentice programs, and, technical and academic colleges at the Oregon Convention Center for this annual event.
The Portland Business Alliance, its members and sponsors, deserve our congratulations for again organizing this grand event, and providing thoughtful advice for students and adults alike. The best part for adults attending, without a doubt, is the opportunity to talk to these motivated youth who are trying to figure out what next step to take upon high school graduation.
A big shout out to those high school students from Wilson, Parkrose and St. Helen’s High Schools who recognized their classmates in the 2013 O[yes] video contest finalists as they were shown at the O[yes] exhibit.
