OR-FACE recently published an updated hazard alert for the agriculture industry in collaboration with our safety partners at SAIF. Fatal injuries on farms and ranches frequently involve tractors and other mobile machinery, falls, and hot work. These deaths can be prevented. The hazard alert tells real stories about some of the fatal injuries that have occurred on Oregon farms and ranches over the past five years, and provides straightforward prevention recommendations and best practices. The hazard alert is available for download in English and in Spanish (en español) on the OR-FACE website.
The booklet is one of the training resources used in SAIF’s agriculture safety seminars, which are offered in both English and Spanish and reach more than 2,000 farmers and ranchers throughout Oregon annually. This is one of the ways OR-FACE’s partnership with SAIF allows us to jointly increase the impact of our safety outreach efforts.
