GlobalPDX is hosting a full day conference at Portland State University’s Smith Memorial Student Union on November 2nd, focusing on the humanitarian, development, and peace nexus, building on the growing recognition that humanitarian, development, and peace building efforts are complementary and need to reinforce each other, to respond to volatile situations around the world. The conference will bring opportunities to learn, network, collaborate and exhibit amongst development professionals from across Oregon in the public and private sectors, academia and government. GlobalPDX will have multiple networking opportunities (including an evening reception and poster session), workshops, panel discussions, facilitated knowledge sharing and a forum focused on fostering partnership and collaboration. Conference participants are thought-leaders in the field of international development representing organizations that work in multiple countries around the world, practitioners who spend time in the field, researchers seeking solutions to global challenges grounded in science, funders interested in investing for impact, and students from various universities interested in global development.
