September 14-18 is this year’s National Safety Stand-Down week, part of the Campaign to Prevent Falls in Construction. “Safety Stand-Down” describes pausing regular work in order to focus on an issue of safety, particularly when it comes to falls. It is also a time to remember those who lost their lives due to a fall. In 2015, falls accounted for over 1/3 of construction fatalities and over 1/10 of fatalities in all industries. We all can help prevent these fatalities from occurring!
This year, Stand-Down week is virtual or socially distant. Here are some ideas on how to do that. Also, our Institute’s Dr. David Hurtado will be part of a webinar series with different panels talking about fall prevention. It will happen on Thursday, September 17 at 11:30 PST, and you can register here.
You can register for the kick-off webinar here, and for Friday’s panel here.
