OHWC’s Occupational Health Psychology Summer Institute was a success! Our day-long online event, Total Worker Health® approaches in industry and academia: Key elements and implementation, welcomed over 80 attendees from academia and industry. Our goal for this event was to highlight current opportunities to learn and implement Total Worker Health (TWH) concepts and strategies.
The morning session included a workshop-style deep dive into the TWH approach by the Oregon Total Worker Health Alliance. Dede Montgomery (Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences/OHWC), Liz Hill (SAIF), and Jean Orchard (Health & Safety Consultant) led a captivating session that took the audience through the fundamentals of the TWH approach and several interactive exercises designed to teach participants how to build and sustain TWH within their organizations.
In the afternoon, we heard compelling first-hand experiences from industry experts involved in varying stages of TWH implementation within their organization. OHWC Co-Director, Dr. Leslie Hammer and Nichole Guilfoy (Providence Health & Services) facilitated an engaging panel with Shamai Larsen (Legacy Health Services), Mike Ellis (Apollo Mechanical), and Deborah Roy (LL Bean). Learn valuable TWH implementation lessons from healthcare, construction, and retail.
