Welcoming Amy Spring to the Outreach Team

Blog submission from Erin Flynn, Outreach Director, Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences.

We are delighted to announce that Amy Spring has joined the Institute of Occupational Health Sciences as our new Outreach Manager. Amy brings a wealth of experience to this new position including over two decades of outreach, communications, community engagement, and partnership building at Portland State University.

Amy’s professional background working to bridge theory and practice in higher education has prepared her to be a productive member of the Institute Outreach team. Most recently, Amy served as Director of Project Management and Communications at the Office of Research and Graduate Studies at PSU. Prior to this role, she served as the Community Research and Partnerships Director in the Office of Research and Strategic Partnerships, and as the Assistant Director of Community-University Partnerships in the Office of Academic Innovation.

As a member of the Outreach team, Amy will manage a broad range of activities including practitioner-oriented education, professional development, research dissemination, event planning, science communication, and partnership development. She is currently working on the agenda for the Institute’s Spring Symposium, Toolkit dissemination, and Institute communications. Amy earned both her BA and her MPA from Portland State University. She recently earned a Certificate in Project Management from PSU’s Center for Executive and Professional Education. She looks forward to putting her curriculum development experience, partnership development, and understanding of research translation to work to support the outreach functions of the Institute.
