Earlier this month, The New York Times published an article about the need for tighter electronic security when traveling internationally. Admittedly, some of the safety precautions mentioned “seem straight from a spy film,” but the article is a must read for scientists who may unwittingly be targets for cyber theft.

Also recommended: The Knoepfler Stem Cell Lab Blog, written by a faculty member at the UC Davis School of Medicine, has a useful cheat sheet of safety tips for international travel. The list includes tips like switching off your Bluetooth Wireless and microphone, and using “disposable passwords” on trips.
