A primer on the export compliance side of research

If your lab found a genetic mutation with the potential to start a pandemic in humans, would you publish your findings? An article, “The Limits of Government Regulation of Science,” published earlier this month in Science, asks just that. According to Mark Peters, OHSU’s Export Compliance Officer, this article is a great primer regarding the export compliance side of research and how the U.S. Government can and may use this to control the distribution of research findings.

As always, contact Export Controls if you have any questions regarding government regulations and research.
