OHSU renews contract for Evidence-based Practice Center, adds new partners

For the past 15 years, The Oregon Evidence-based Practice Center has been reviewing and composing the latest scientific literature to support evidence-based decision making by clinicians and consumers with the overall goal of improving health care in the U.S. OHSU has just been awarded its fourth consecutive federal contract to support our practice center, which is one of only 11 in the country. But with this new federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality contract comes a new name and some new collaborators.

OHSU has partnered up with the University of Washington Center for Comparative and Health System Effectiveness Alliance (CHASE Alliance) and Spectrum Research, Inc., to form the new Pacific Northwest Evidence-based Practice Center at OHSU. The new center will be directed by Roger Chou, M.D., the scientific director of the former Oregon Evidence-based Practice Center since 2007. Dr. Chou is an associate professor in the departments of medical informatics and clinical epidemiology and medicine.
