Upcoming changes to NIH biosketches

Last week, the NIH introduced a new biosketch format that is intended to better highlight the impact of a researcher’s contribution to science. Over the next few months, the NIH will be piloting this new five-page biosketch, which provides space to explain the significance of your findings as well as your role on collaborative research projects. One RFA has been released so far requiring the new biosketch–others will be released soon. Applicants who respond to these RFAs and reviewers will be asked to provide feedback.

You can download a sample of this modified biosketch here.

Later this year, you’ll be able to create biosketches in the new format using SciENcv. Sally Rockey anticipates that the new format will be required for all NIH applications submitted in 2015.

We’ll be providing more information about this change as it becomes available.
