Each year, OHSU faculty members are recognized through the Faculty Senate Awards for their exceptional efforts in support of OHSU’s mission. The awards are made for recent contributions in one of five categories: research, leadership, teaching, service, and collaboration. This year, nominations are being solicited from the Affiliated Units/Institutions & School of Public Health for the award category Research.
The Research Award recognizes a faculty member for their excellence based upon evidence of sustained research productivity spanning a period of at least five years, and upon the quality and impact of the research as judged by its influence on the field or on public policy, and by its perceived benefits to the community and/or to industry.
In order to reward the activities that are current, nominations must be for a full-time or part-time OHSU faculty member. Emeritus faculty members are not eligible. Faculty members must appointed or affiliated with an OHSU academic unit.
To nominate one or more faculty members, please fill out your nomination form on the Faculty Senate website and attach a short paragraph or letter showing tangible evidence of why you think this individual deserves this award in the specified category. Tangible forms of evidence that the selection committees may weigh in making their decisions include (but are not limited to) the nominee’s publication record, research awards and grants, invited participation in scholarly symposia, patents, and testimonial letters from colleagues and other relevant groups or individuals. The final deadline to receive all nominations and materials is 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20.
