Since launching its “War on Melanoma” and creating the Melanoma Community Registry in 2014, OHSU Department of Dermatology has enrolled over 4,800 melanoma survivors, family members, and friends who are interested in participating in research. Join them in celebrating at the second annual skin cancer screening and research expo!
Melanoma Research Expo
Saturday, May 21
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Collaborative Life Sciences Building
The event will include presentations by OHSU melanoma researchers, free skin cancer screenings, opportunities to participate in research studies, and even an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the most natural redheads in one place at one time.
AIM at Melanoma and SolSurvivors will also be co-hosting a community walk and fun run to raise awareness around skin cancer. All proceeds from the walk will support the Department of Dermatology’s participation in a Melanoma Tissue Bank Consortium.
Does your research have an impact on skin cancer? Let us know by Monday, Mar. 21 if you would like to have a table at the expo. Your participation in this event will increase public awareness of the great work you are doing in the field of skin cancer and can advance your scientific inquiries.
If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Loa Nowina-Sapinski or Lisa Domenico.
