Research Administration Training and Education (RATE): January, 2019 Classes

Research Administration Training and Education is offering four classes in January 2019. RATE connects research administrators and others working in support of the research mission with a variety of learning experiences and resources.

RATE Clinical Trials 1: Pre-award Administration

Clinical Trials 1: Pre-award Administration

This course addresses pre-award considerations in the financial life cycle of clinical trials. Attend to learn about OHSU policies and guidance relating to a clinical trial budget, preparation of clinical trial budgets and payment schedules of industry-sponsored clinical trials. You’ll also learn to set-up accounts such as OGA and Industrial accounts and handle third party payer approvals.

Prerequisite: Participants are required to have completed eCRIS Training before registering for this class.

RATE Clinical Trials 2: Post-award Administration

This course addresses post-award considerations in the financial life cycle of clinical trials. Topics include eCRIS and OGA for invoicing and cash management, setup process for clinical trial awards, data housed in OGA, posting appropriate expenses. You’ll also learn about preparation for financial closeout, and setup and management of post-closing Program Development Accounts.

Prerequisite: Participants are required to have completed eCRIS Training before registering for this class.

RATE Export Controls 101: Shipping, Travel and Collaboration

Learn about resources and policies relevant to working with international researchers, traveling, collaborating and sharing materials internationally. Why participate? Because compromised export controls could lead to consequences for individuals, departments and OHSU as a whole. Come familiarize yourself with the Export Controls Office.

If you’re looking for a place to get started, join the next RDA 101 class and learn about RDA units, research roles and responsibilities, and key resources. RDA unit leaders will introduce their units’ functions and you’ll learn tips and strategies for navigating research administration considerations. While you’re at it, connect with colleagues!
