What: Funds activities related to the use of nonhuman primates for biomedical research or for studies enhancing NHP welfare or husbandry.
Who should apply: ONPRC core scientists and non-core scientists working with a core scientist.

What: Funding for new research projects that could become competitive for an NIH grant or another external funding source.

Cancer St. Baldrick’s Foundation Spring Cycle Grants
What: Funds research to find cures for childhood cancers and help survivors. The following programs are available in the 2020 spring grant cycle:

Cardiology Vascular Cures Wylie Scholar Program
What: Provides three-year development grants for initial vascular research to enable future research funding.
Who should apply: Early-career vascular surgeon-scientists

Merit Prizes and Awards

Multidisciplinary Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation 2020 Lasker Medical Research Awards
What: Honors individuals who have made significant contributions in basic or clinical research. Awards are given out for basic and clinical medical research and special achievement in medical science.
Who should apply: Nominate anyone who you feel has made a significant contribution to medical research
Award: $250,000                 
Deadline: Feb. 3, 2020

Multidisciplinary Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator Program
What: Awardees will become employees of HHMI on a seven-year renewable term and receive financial support for research and access to capital equipment funds. HHMI focuses on biomedical research areas.
Who should apply: Tenure or tenure-track faculty with between five and 15 years of professional experience and at least three years of PI experience on at least one active research grant as of April 1, 2020
Award: HHMI-provided salary and benefits
