OHSU Student Innovator Challenge: Enroll by March 15!

The OHSU Innovator Challenge provides mentorship to students who have ideas for inventions to address challenges in the health, medicine, or bioscience/biotechnology arenas. Students and projects from all disciplines are welcome, no prior experience necessary.

Student Innovator Challenge 
Register by March 15, 2020.

After enrolling, a personal mentor will help students to develop their idea for the OHSU Innovator Challenge competition. Winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Invent Oregon program.

All students who enroll receive individualized mentorship and training to develop their innovation and pitch, gain important experience, and develop a range of skills.

OHSU Innovator Challenge: Pitch Presentations
Monday, April 6, 5 to 6 p.m.
Center for Health and Healing, Bldg. 2, room 13016

  • Gain practical experience developing a concept with the potential to have a substantial and scalable positive environmental and/or social impact.
  • Connect with experienced innovators and mentors.
  • Understand the basics of bringing a concept from idea to market.

In the pitch competition, projects are evaluated based on five-minute pitches that explain the problem, solution, and the market/business opportunity of their invention.

At the Invent Oregon finals competition, students compete for $30,000 in cash prizes. 

Winners of the OHSU Student Innovator Challenge go on to participate in the Invent Oregon program, where they are supported with mentorship, education, and $500 in prototyping grants to advance the development of their prototype prior to the semifinal competition.
