Recognizing and encouraging innovation
The OHSU Chapter of the NAI inducts two types of members: inventor members, who are identified by OHSU Technology Transfer based on patent records, and honorary members.
Honorary Members are selected through a nomination process. These faculty, staff and students and members of the community have facilitated and nurtured innovation, commercialization and entrepreneurship at OHSU. Examples could include: those who have conceived and developed significant non-patentable innovations and copyrights; those who have fostered and supported a spirit of innovation at OHSU; those who have created a culture of entrepreneurship at OHSU.
The National Academy of Inventors recognizes and encourages inventors and innovators across the country in order to enhance the visibility of academic technology and innovation, encourage the disclosure of intellectual property, educate and mentor innovative students, and translate the inventions of its members to benefit society. The OHSU Chapter of the NAI launched in 2020.
