Kalisha Bonds, R.N., Ph.D. will speak on the decision-making processes exercised by African American persons living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and their care partners. She’ll also speak about how her race, gender and socioeconomic status has influenced her research.
Bonds is a National Institute of Nursing Research T32 postdoctoral fellow at Emory University in the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. She earned her Ph.D. at OHSU in 2019.
In this one-hour session, learn actionable techniques for designing simplified science figures the general public, especially on important topics such as COVID-19. The webinar will include how to simplify complex concepts, include the right amount of detail, create compelling social media posts; optimize legibility using high-contrast figures — and a brief introduction to the BioRender software. Led by, Shiz Aoki, former lead science illustrator of National Geographic.

The plenary sessions are open to all OHSU members! They are part of the Clinical Research Professional Conference, a key component of OHSU’s Research Week. The conference is hosted by OHSU, NWABR, the Oregon Chapter of SOCRA and the Pacific Northwest Chapter of ACRP. Because of the pandemic, it is being hosted virtually and registration is closed — but you can still log in for the plenaries.
