The Collins Medical Trust is open for applications to a new round of funding from June 5-12. The Trust provides seed funding to early-career investigators to advance basic or clinical medical research projects through three award cycles each year.

Who should apply?

  • Early-career investigators at various stages in their careers (fellows, assistants, professors, etc.)
  • Applicants who can clearly demonstrate support from their mentor
  • Applicants whose projects are designed to be eligible for larger-scale funding

What does the award fund?

The Trust prefers to fund projects that will likely be eligible for future NIH or other substantial funding. Proposals should highlight the project’s immediate impact on the population served in Oregon as well as its potential national impact.

How much is the award?

Awardees will receive up to $30,000 for one year. The Trust accepts 15 proposals from OHSU for each of their three annual deadlines and typically funds two to four projects each round.

How do I apply?

Applicants must submit a Notice of Intent Form between June 5 and June 12. The Collins Medical Trust is on the President’s List, and proposals will be submitted through the OHSU Foundation. Full applications will be due August 31, 2020.

Communications to the Trust should be routed through the OHSU Foundation, so if you have questions, reach out to the Foundation or to Juli Bailey, Program Manager for Foundation Relations.
