Award: $3,000 for first-tier awards and $500 for second-tier

Multidisciplinary Health and Environmental Sciences Institute Innovation Prize
What: Recognizes scientists who have done exceptional research, training/education and programmatic work in one of the following areas: safe and effective medicines; food safety and security;  chemical and consumer product safety; and environmental quality and sustainability
Who should apply: Scientists submitting work they have completed within the last five years; self-nominations are permitted
Award: $80,000 in unrestricted cash

Orthopedics American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Kappa Delta Awards and OREF Clinical Research Award

What: Honors one young scientist for outstanding life science research for which they were awarded a doctoral degree in the previous two years; your thesis research must have been in one of the following categories to qualify: Cell and Molecular Biology; Genomics, Proteomics, and Systems Biology approaches; Ecology and​ Environment; Molecular Medicine
