2022 Research and Innovation Awards announced

OHSU Innovates has announced winners of the 2022 Research and Innovation Awards. These five members of the OHSU community are recognized for significant contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship during the previous year. 2022 Research and Innovation Awards program

The 2022 Research and Innovation Awards program, published on April 25, also recognizes investigators who have received patents, participated in industry-sponsored research and successfully had their inventions licensed for commercialization.   

2022 Research and Innovation Awards

Marcel Curlin, M.D., received the New Innovator of the Year award for his contributions to COVID-19 research and inventions. 

Yali Jia, Ph.D., is recognized for her recent election as a Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors for her significant contributions to advancing the clinical applications of optical coherence tomography. 

Hiroyuki Nakai, M.D., Ph.D., received the Career Innovation Excellence award for his long and successful track record of inventing and licensing technologies in the field of gene therapy. 

Fikadu Tafesse, Ph.D., received the Partnership Award for his collaborative and nationally recognized research in infectious disease. 

Dhanir Tailor, Ph.D., received the Early Career Innovator award for his work in cancer biology therapeutics.
