Every principal investigator wants to build and maintain a lab that attracts and retains outstanding trainees and staff members. Juggling this endeavor with everything else the PI must do – writing papers, teaching, mentoring, gaining and maintaining funding, creating collaborative and productive relationships with other PIs – can be challenging at best. Back by popular demand after COVID-19 disruptions, this 1.5-day course will help you learn to manage people with a focus on the particular needs of running a lab or research group. The course is led by Rachel Dresbeck and Jen Prissel from OHSU Research & Innovation.
When: Friday, Sept. 29, 8.45 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 30, 8.45 – noon.
Who: The course is geared toward early-career faculty but is also appropriate for postdocs as well as faculty in other career stages and anyone else who manages staff in a research setting.
