Wychus Creek - 4I am from Bend, Oregon, where I grew up skiing, camping, and acting like a wildman on my family’s farm. After earning a bachelor’s degree at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, I spent five fantastic years jumping between managing a wilderness lodge in Alaska in the summer and traveling around the world during the winter. My desire to be a PA grew out of this nomadic life, as I saw how access to healthcare is the limiting factor for many communities ability to thrive and be healthy. Being a PA will allow me to live in the beautiful remote areas I love while also getting to practice medicine in a place where I am needed. Working towards this goal involved several years of post-baccalaureate schooling while also working full-time as an EMT/pro ski patroller and an ER scribe. Now that my studies have begun, I enjoy spending the tiny amount of free time I do have back in Bend with my husband and dogs. I am honored to be a part of OHSU’s PA Class of 2017, and excited to represent the university and program in my future career.
