Hi!  I’m Sarah Dohman.  I am a born and raised Oregonian, who also happens to have dual citizenship to the U.K.  I’m the middle of three children, in a family full of science fanatics.  I’m also a second-generation nursing student (my Mum is a RN in Silverton, Oregon).

Nursing piqued my interest as a child: when I was 8 years old, I wrote a pretend letter to the President stating that I wanted to take care of people.  However, my path into nursing school has not been a straight-shot: prior to my time at OHSU, I studied at Portland State University, graduating from there in 2009 with a double major in Community Health Education and Health Sciences.  Although I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Portland State, I knew I was not done academically speaking.  After graduation, I applied to the Monmouth campus, and started here in the Fall of 2010.  I have long-term career aspirations to become a DNP, hopefully in family practice or women’s health.

Aside from the wonderful world of nursing, I enjoy baking, spending time with family and friends, volunteering, attending my home church in Salem, crafting, and traveling.  I’m excited to share my process as a nursing student on the Monmouth campus with everyone.
